Community Identity

A memorable identity for a place is always made stronger when there are supporting design elements that work harmoniously with the mark. Marks such as Shaker Square and Downtown Lakewood are successful because they were assigned color palettes, graphic elements and fonts that formed a cohesive system.

The Shaker Square identity, which represents the four quadrant plan of the center, is contemporary, yet respects the historic nature of the site and architecture. A complementary color palette was introduced to contrast with the stark red brick and white framed Georgian-style architecture. To read more about this project click here.

The Lakewood identity reflects the authentic voice of the community, gathered from business owners, residents and other community members in public meetings and online surveys. Diamond elements are Inspired by architectural features often found in downtown Lakewood, while the color red was selected with direct community input. To read more about this project click here.
